“[Their] full and eclectic mix of sounds results in a modern string quartet capable of incredible delicacy—folk, jazz manouche, Latin and other genres subtly shine through their quiet dynamic, which calls for the listener’s church-like reverence, preferably under candlelight.”

Heat Speak is an indie folk group led by singer-songwriter multi-instrumentalist Dario Ré. His impassioned poetics sung in English and French are supported by dynamic musicianship and intricate arrangements to create a unique blend of indie folk, chamber pop and world fusion.
The project began as a trio in 2014 in Ré’s hometown, Spokane, Washington. The group formally banded with the majority of their current line-up following their 2017 album, Aspen Artichoke (released under the eponymous band name Dario Ré). At the end of 2018, the group rebranded as Heat Speak in preparation for their forthcoming 2020 album release.
In 2019, Heat Speak played approximately 60 live shows in the Pacific Northwest and were nominated for a Bartlett Award as Best Local Folk Band/Artist.
Heat Speak features Dario Ré (guitar, piano, ukulele, vocals, production), Phil Pintor (violin, mandolin, piano), Michael Starry (upright bass), Andie Daisley (vocals), Zack Zuniga (percussion), Chris Kelsey (drums), Rick Estrada (guitars, violin, mandolin, vocals), Caroline Bickford (cello), and Tim Gales (mandocello, cello, vocals).
